The reason is the same on all of them. A fan inside the machine pushes air toward the exhaust, and a pushed chamber sits at positive pressure. Positive pressure finds every seam. Owners of the xTool P2, Glowforge, Falcon2 Pro, and the H2D laser have been taping edges, printing gaskets, and buying booster fans for years to fight it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe R1 ships with crossflow ventilation: an extra fan pulls air in one side and pushes it out the other. That is good for carrying smoke to the outlet. It is also the same push-fan layout that leaks on every other machine built this way. If you can do that, do it. Not everyone can. A classroom with no window, an apartment, a shared shop, a machine that sits next to a bedroom wall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Supplemental Enclosure is a rigid outer enclosure cut to fit the Bambu Lab R1 with room for the lid to open inside it. The R1 sits inside. Its exhaust connects directly to a pass-through duct in the enclosure wall, so your hose run to a window or purifier is unchanged. Whatever escapes the R1's seams is now inside a second box instead of the room, and because the R1 pulls its intake air from inside that box, leaked smoke gets drawn back through the machine and out the exhaust on the next pass. A second barrier and a return loop. Nothing else to set up.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is not a tent. CNC-routed acrylic panels, aluminum hardware, a full-width front door, and the same bolt-together construction as our 3D printer and laser enclosures. Brackets and hardware are included in every order. When the Riser Base is fitted, follow Bambu's Class 4 guidance and eyewear requirements; the outer enclosure does not change the R1's laser classification. Not compatible with the Conveyor.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eAccess control.\u003c\/strong\u003e Keyed lock kit option. The R1 has a removable equipment key; the outer enclosure adds a physical barrier between the machine and anyone who should not be opening it: students, kids, shared-shop users, the night shift.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eQuieter.\u003c\/strong\u003e The R1 is loud, and the purifier is louder. A second wall of acrylic between the machine and the room takes the edge off.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eFire suppression option.\u003c\/strong\u003e Optional BlazeCut automatic fire suppression tube mounted inside the outer enclosure. It is heat-activated, needs no power or sensors, and covers the space around the machine, not just the inside of it.
