1️⃣Clearview's Lazy Susan is a horizontally mounted spool holder that is easy to setup and is universal for most filament 3D printers. This keeps large filament spools clean and dry for better print quality. The Lazy Susan is our latest development and it offers a better balance of keeping our filament path drag free while reducing lapped filament that causes the line to be tangled. The top lid lifts off for fast and easy spool changes.
2️⃣Clearview's vertical spool holder offers a stronger more robust enclosure with a bearing driven spindle for minimal filament drag. If you are finding that your extruder gear is having a tough time pulling your filament from the spool, this is a good option to help keep your filament feeding easily.
Includes panels, 3D printed brackets, hardware, and 1 meter of bowden tube, and press fittings for the bowden tube.
Setup Strategy:
✅When using large filament spools it is best to keep your filament path smooth and kink free to reduce drag. Too much drag and your extruder gears may not be able to grip hard enough to feed your filament. We suggest setting your spool holder on the side or top of the 3D printer in an area that it is easy to load. We've made a few exit point holes so that you have a few options for the direction you want to feed the filament out of.
✅Preventing lapped filament or tangles from retraction is important. The Lazy Susan is the better option for this. With the vertical spool holder it is best to strategize your spool in a way that will keep the spool from rewinding. We've added a tab to the spindle to help prevent rewind. An added way we like to help prevent rewind is to set a desiccant bag on the bottom of the enclosure in a way that it lightly brushes up against the spool to keep it from rolling back.
About the heater and electronics for the cutout option:
This option is a DIY addon to the spool enclosure. We've added a temperature controller and PTC heater to warm the enclosure to dry filament. Our tests show that this can reach up to 40c - 60c depending on conditions. We include a BOM of parts we used and have fitted to make this. We aren't offering direction on wiring or setup for this option so please, only order this option if you are handy with wiring up your own circuit. All parts are orderable on Amazon and cost about $65USD. BOM is inlcuded in our file repo that is linked in the order confirmation email.
