ACM · aluminum composite panel · routed and printed
ACM panels cut, routed and printed. A full 4 × 8 sheet in one pass.
Clearview Plastics CNC-routes aluminum composite material (ACM) — two thin aluminum skins bonded to a polyethylene core — to your DXF from sheets up to 5 × 10 ft, and UV-prints it full color across a 98.4 × 51.2 in bed, so a whole 48 × 96 in panel prints without a seam. We stock 3 mm and 6 mm signage-grade ACM for printed signs and panels (laminated for outdoor use), exhibit graphics, equipment panels, shadow boards, and routed blanks for sign shops. Quantity one and up, quotes in one business day, $200 minimum order. We do not supply building cladding.
Ships 5–10 business days after approval and payment

What ACM is
Aluminum on the outside, plastic in the middle.
ACM is a sandwich: two thin painted aluminum skins bonded to a solid polyethylene core. The skins give it a flat, stiff, printable face; the core keeps it light. It is not an aluminum core with plastic faces, which is a common mix-up. Dibond is one manufacturer’s brand of ACM; the construction is the same.
A routed edge shows the core as a thin dark line between the skins, which is normal. Typical manufacturer service range is −30 to 80 °C.
Facility maps, directional and informational signs, warehouse aisle and zone signs, site and parking signs, and large wall graphics, routed to shape with mounting holes. Outdoor signs are laminated over the print.
Exhibit & trade-show panels
Light, flat, full-color panels for booths and demo stands, with standoff holes and product cutouts routed in the same program.
Equipment & machine panels
Cover panels, back panels and printed instruction panels that need to stay flat across a large span without the weight of solid aluminum plate.
Routed blanks for sign shops
Shapes, radiused corners and mounting holes cut to your file, unprinted, ready for your vinyl or your exterior print. Blind-shipped on request.
What we will not sell you
Two ACM jobs that belong somewhere else.
Building cladding
Exterior wall cladding is a code-governed assembly. Standard polyethylene-core ACM cannot pass the NFPA 285 fire test, which in the U.S. effectively bars it from walls above 40 ft and from wall assemblies with foam plastic insulation at almost any height. That work belongs to a cladding manufacturer with fire-rated core panels and tested assemblies.
Laser cutting
A CO2 laser will not cut through aluminum skins. Every ACM part here is cut on the CNC router.
Capabilities
What is on the floor.
CNC routing
AXYZ CNC router, sheets up to 5 × 10 ft. Profiles, holes, slots, cutouts and radiused corners; inside edges chamfered on the router where they will be handled.
UV flatbed printing
Mimaki JFX200-2513, 98.4 × 51.2 in, media to 2 in thick, 300–1,200 dpi, CMYK. Both faces printable on opaque ACM. Laminated over the print for outdoor use.
Registration
Print and cut run from one file and one origin, so a graphic that bleeds to a routed edge or frames a cutout lands where it was drawn.
Hardware
Standoffs, hooks, clips, magnets and VHB fitted before the panel ships.
Shipping
Masked and packed flat. Full 4 × 8 panels exceed parcel size limits and ship crated by LTL freight, quoted with the job. No installation.

Questions we get
Straight answers.
What is ACM?
Aluminum composite material: two thin painted aluminum skins bonded to a solid polyethylene core. It is flat, stiff, light and printable, and it routes cleanly on a CNC router. Dibond is one manufacturer’s brand of it.
Can you print a full 4 × 8 ACM sheet?
Yes. The flatbed prints 98.4 × 51.2 in, so a 48 × 96 in panel prints in one pass with no tiling or seam, then routes to shape on a router that takes sheets up to 5 × 10 ft.
Can printed ACM go outdoors?
Yes, laminated. Mimaki specifies a laminate or overcoat for this ink outdoors, so every printed ACM panel headed outdoors is laminated over the print before it ships. Routed, unprinted blanks are also available for your own vinyl or print.
Can ACM be used as building cladding?
Not the signage-grade ACM we stock. Exterior wall cladding is governed by the building code, and standard polyethylene-core ACM cannot pass the NFPA 285 fire test required for many wall assemblies, including walls over 40 ft. Cladding should come from a manufacturer supplying fire-rated core panels and tested assemblies.
Can ACM be laser cut?
Not on a CO2 laser: the aluminum skins reflect the beam. We cut every ACM part on the CNC router, which also lets us chamfer edges and route holes in the same program.
Which thickness should I use?
3 mm for most signs, panels and cabinet-door boards; 6 mm when the panel spans a large area unsupported, carries weight such as tools, or stands on edge in a display.
Do you take purchase orders?
Businesses pay by card or ACH when the order is placed; a W-9 is available on request. Government agencies and schools can order on a purchase order with net terms on orders of $3,000 or more.
