The Atomstack A70 Max Laser Engraver Enclosure Kit V3 by Clearview Plastics is a made-to-fit safety and ventilation upgrade built specifically for the Atomstack A70 Max — the 70W large-format diode engraver with an 850 × 800 mm engraving field. It protects your investment, contains the smoke and soot, and fits the A70 Max's workflow, so you can run wood, acrylic, leather, and coated-material jobs cleanly indoors.
Your A70 Max drops right into the enclosure's 1220 x 1220 mm (48" x 48") external footprint — roughly 1200 x 1200 mm inside the rigid 2020 aluminum extrusion frame, with about 395 mm (15.5") of height for the full gantry travel, the rotary, and a tumbler. The A70 Max engraves an extra-wide 850 mm — past what most enclosures can handle — yet its full frame fits inside with proper clearance. It assembles in minutes with a screwdriver and Allen key and requires zero modification to your machine.
Also compatible with other large-format diode lasers — running a different machine? See our universal Max Laser Engraver Enclosure Kit V3.
A large-format diode laser is a significant purchase, and running it open on a bench is the fastest way to shorten its life and foul your shop. Every pass lays down a fine soot that settles on rails, lenses, and electronics, while smoke and fumes drift straight into the room you're standing in. The Max V3 wraps your machine in commercial-grade 1/4" (6 mm) panels that keep debris off your investment, contain the plume at the source, and give you a clean, controlled environment every time you fire the beam. It's the difference between a machine that looks new in three years and one that doesn't.
This enclosure was engineered around how large-format diode owners actually run jobs — not just to be a box:
Diode lasers operate around 445–450 nm and are rated Class 4 — the highest laser hazard class. Cutting and engraving wood, acrylic, leather, painted, stained, or sealed materials releases smoke and fine particulate you don't want to breathe. The Max V3 gives you real containment:
Important: the laser-filtering panels reduce indirect glare but are not a certified laser-safety window and do not reclassify your Class 4 laser. Always wear OD-rated safety glasses for your wavelength (e.g. OD5+ for 450 nm diodes) while the laser is in use. Need an enclosure that meets ANSI, ASTM, or OSHA guidelines? Contact us directly.

Neil Henderson here, owner and head designer at Clearview Plastics. My shop is a California-based artisan design studio, and we build every enclosure in-house in Sacramento. Our panels are professionally CNC-cut for accuracy, with parts designed specifically for each machine we support — this isn't a generic box off a marketplace. When you order through us, you work directly with me, and that relationship comes with my genuine appreciation and skilled, personal help.
Will my large-format diode laser fit — even if it engraves more than 800 mm?
Yes. The enclosure has a 1220 mm W x 1220 mm D x 405 mm H external footprint, leaving roughly 1200 x 1200 mm and about 395 mm of height inside the 2020 extrusion frame — sized to clear the full frame of these machines, not just their engraving field. Models that mark past 800 mm, like the iKier K40 Max and Atomstack A70 Max (850 mm), fit. If your engraver fits within the footprint, the enclosure is designed to work with it — and if your model isn't listed or you run an extended/modular bed, send us your machine's frame dimensions and we'll confirm fit before you order.
Do the laser-filtering panels mean I don't need safety glasses?
No. The amber panels filter light at the wavelength diode lasers operate at and greatly reduce indirect glare, but they are not a certified laser-viewing window. Always wear appropriate OD-rated safety glasses (e.g. OD5+ for 450 nm) whenever the laser is running.
Does this enclosure comply with ANSI Z136.1?
No. This enclosure is designed for fume containment and glare reduction, not to reduce a Class 4 laser to Class 1. Follow all Class 4 laser safety protocols. If you need an enclosure that meets ANSI, ASTM, or OSHA guidelines, contact us directly.
Does it have an exhaust port for smoke and fumes?
Yes. The enclosure includes a 4" exhaust port to connect a flexible 4" hose and vent outside. From there, add the fan setup that fits your workload: a 95 CFM exhaust fan (includes the mounting bracket) for light-duty use, a 200 CFM compact fan for added air circulation, or our window exhaust kit — an inline fan, window insert, and 16 feet of hose. If venting outside isn't possible, add a BOFA PrintPRO 3 filtration unit to clean the air indoors.
Is there room for a rotary?
Yes. The internal height (about 395 mm / 15.5") clears the rotary and a fully articulated laser head, with enough room to engrave objects up to an 80 mm glass or tumbler.
What's included, and what do I supply?
The base kit includes acrylic panels and hardware; you print the brackets from the included files. Add our pre-printed parts for a complete kit. In all cases you supply a 4" dryer hose, and for heavy use we recommend adding an inline exhaust fan.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Shipping is calculated at checkout via USPS/UPS/FedEx (HS code 8538.10). Express services often cover import fees, but additional VAT, tariffs, or fees may apply depending on your country.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy. Unused, undamaged panels with the masking fully attached are eligible for a full refund less return shipping. If panels are damaged after shipment or the protective mask has been removed, we can't offer a refund. To check fitment, consider partially assembling with the mask still on — if it isn't for you, you're still eligible for a full refund.
Why do the product photos vary slightly?
We update and improve our enclosures often, and as a small business a fresh photoshoot for every iteration isn't realistic. Function is always constant or improved. For the clearest picture of the current version, rely on the renderings rather than the photos.
We can ship to virtually any address in the world. International orders include brokerage fees for customs. Duties, VAT, taxes, and other fees may need to be collected prior to delivery. Every country and local is different so we cannot provide an exact estimate of these fees.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
