Both are built on 40-series black aluminum extrusion with cast corner brackets and M8 hardware — the same structural system used for CNC machine frames and industrial workstations. The top is 3/4″ melamine: flat, sealed, wipes clean, and won’t telegraph a heat cycle the way a raw wood top will.
An H2D is 68 pounds before you add the enclosure, a spool bank, and a large part.
