Keyence GX-1000 3D Printer External Enclosure - Coming Soon

The Keyence GX-1000 is a production tool. It has independent dual extruders, in-chamber temperature control, a 400 × 300 × 300 mm build volume, and engineering filaments chosen for rigidity, wear, heat, chemical and flame resistance. It was built to put jigs, fixtures and functional parts on the plant floor in hours instead of weeks, and it does exactly that.

The machine is enclosed. The room isn't.

A heated-chamber printer holds its thermal envelope by design, which is why the parts come out right. But ultrafine particles and VOCs from hot engineering polymers don't stay behind door seals, cable passes and vents, during a print or after it. On a production floor or in an engineering office, the person working eight feet from the machine breathes that for the whole build.

Why bolting an extractor to the printer is the wrong fix

Pulling air directly out of a heated build chamber pulls the heat out with it. Chamber temperature drops, interlayer bonding weakens, corners lift and dimensional accuracy walks. You end up with a printer you bought for repeatable parts that now warps them. We never extract from the machine's chamber.

Our architecture: secondary containment

The Clearview enclosure builds an outer volume around the GX-1000. Fugitive emissions that escape the machine are captured in that outer volume and sent exhaust-to-outside. With the exhaust option configured, the space runs at slight negative pressure, so air leaks in, not out. The GX-1000's own chamber never feels it. Its thermal envelope stays intact, and so does the air in the room.

When there's no path to vent outdoors, the step up is the Print Pro 3 by Donaldson. It's an industrial-grade filter with about 8–10 lbs of charcoal and deeper HEPA filters to ensure fume mitigation, and it connects to the same exhaust bracket.

Engineering: the heat has to go somewhere

Keyence specifies the GX-1000 for 10–40 °C ambient, at up to 1,500 VA on a single-phase 100–120 V circuit. All of that power ends up as heat in the space around the machine. A sealed box around it would push the air the machine breathes past its published limit. Our outer volume uses sized through-flow instead: intake low, exhaust high, following heat stratification. Makeup air crosses the machine's own intakes, and the outer volume stays inside Keyence's ambient window while still containing and exhausting emissions. That's why a sealed acrylic box isn't an option at this tier.

What the enclosure will include

• Panels sized to the GX-1000's published envelope (750 × 610 × 680 mm body; 750 × 630 × 710 mm with handles and legs), with clearance for the door swing and service access
• A full-front access door for loading material and removing parts
• Sealed pass-throughs for power, network and material feed
• Exhaust port with fan options for exhaust-to-outside, or the Print Pro 3 by Donaldson
• An optional workstation base rated for the machine's 69 kg, with material storage below
• Flat-packed or delivered assembled; made in California

Frequently asked questions

Won't enclosing it overheat the electronics?
Not with a ventilated outer volume. We've run dozens of printers inside our enclosures for thousands of hours, including elevated-temperature torture runs, with no mainboard, stepper or power-supply failures. The GX-1000 build is ventilated to hold Keyence's published ambient range.

Does it support our EHS requirements?
It supports facility air-quality and EHS programs by containing emissions and exhausting them outside the occupied space. Your EHS team gets the drawing and the exhaust configuration.
