Panasonic LP-RF / LP-RV / LP-ZV Fiber Laser Marker Enclosure & Workstation (LP-RF200P, LP-RV200P, LP-ZV Series)

The Panasonic LP-RF, LP-RV and LP-ZV are Panasonic's FAYb fiber laser markers: a 1064 nm ytterbium fiber source driving a separate galvo marking head, used for 2D codes, serials and traceability marks on metal and resin parts. They ship as Class 4 laser products. 1064 nm is invisible, reflects off the metal you're marking, and passes straight through clear acrylic and polycarbonate.

This is the housing that goes around it: an opaque aluminum-composite enclosure or a complete workstation, built to your Panasonic head's mounting drawing. It has door interlocks wired to the marker's remote interlock input, a 1064 nm laser-safety window, and extraction sized to what you're marking. Panasonic's own LP-RF manual tells integrators to build a system that cuts off the beam or shuts off laser power when the enclosure is opened. That's the job this enclosure is built to do. The head itself is never touched.

Built around the Panasonic FAYb head, not a generic galvo

• Chamber height set from working distance. The LP-RF200P and LP-RV200P focus at 190 mm over 90 × 90 mm. The 3D LP-ZV focuses at 190 ±25 mm over 125 × 125 mm, 220 ±25 mm over 220 × 220 mm, or 330 ±25 mm over 330 × 330 mm, depending on the model. We stack working distance, your fixture and your tallest part, then add service clearance.
• Head mount machined to Panasonic's pattern. The LP-RF head is about 8 kg and the LP-ZV about 11 kg. On the LP-RF, Panasonic specifies M6 screws in at least six of the ten tapped holes, plus positioning pin holes. We use those on a rigid plate at a fixed, repeatable height, because a readable code grade depends on the part meeting the same focus every cycle.
• A cable pass-through designed for a fiber you don't unplug. The LP-RF fiber can't be removed at the controller. The LP-RV and LP-ZV fiber runs are 2 m (5 m option on the LP-ZV) with an 80 mm minimum bend radius. We use split, sealed cable entries so the head installs without threading a connector through a hole, and the fiber never gets pinched in a door seam.
• Equipment bay with its own air. The LP-RF controller is about 37 kg and forced-air cooled. The LP-RV and LP-ZV split into an oscillator and a controller. Each unit gets a ventilated bay within cable reach, with its air path kept separate from the fume stream. We follow the clearances in Panasonic's installation manual.

Beam containment, scoped honestly

• Opaque ACM walls. The walls are 1/4" aluminum composite panel, not clear plastic. The aluminum face helps block stray 1064 nm reflections off steel, titanium and aluminum parts.
• Window matched to 1064 nm. The window is Double YAG laser-safety acrylic from Laser Safety Industries, which the supplier spectrometer-tested at OD6+ for IR. The supplier's data ships with your documentation. You can also choose no window and monitor by camera.
• Interlocked doors to the Panasonic safety input. Door switches are fitted, wired and labeled to terminate at the marker's REMOTE INTERLOCK input. On the LP-RF, opening that circuit stops laser pumping and closes the shutter. On the LP-RV and LP-ZV, we terminate at the interlock provisions on your unit, confirmed from its manual at quote. We don't open, modify or rewire the head, oscillator or controller.

Fume capture sized to the material

Marking anodized aluminum, coated steel, resins or beryllium copper puts fume in the room. For beryllium copper, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1024 sets the exposure limit at 0.2 µg/m³. The person loading parts all shift breathes whatever the enclosure doesn't capture. Every build includes a source-capture port at the mark and an exhaust port sized to your extractor (4" or 75 mm). A commercial-grade Donaldson BOFA extractor package is available when you want assurance, not just reduction.

Frequently asked questions

Will this make my Panasonic marker a Class 1 laser?
No enclosure sold on its own does that. Laser classification belongs to the finished laser system and its manufacturer under 21 CFR 1040.10. We build the protective housing and interlock provisions your safety plan calls for. Your laser safety officer gets the drawings, materials and window data for the ANSI Z136.1 evaluation. If your program needs a certified Class 1 system, tell us at the start and we'll plan it with you and your laser vendor.

How is this different from a standard marking station?
A standard station is built around a standard stage. We build around your part: long stock through side doors, fixtures that register the part for repeatable code grades, two heads in one housing, and a controller and extractor in the same footprint.

Can you build it before our marker arrives?
Yes. We design from Panasonic's published dimensions and mounting drawing, then confirm the mount and working distance against your unit before final assembly.

Do you install or commission the laser?
We build and ship the enclosure with its drawings and interlock wiring diagram. Panasonic or your integrator commissions the marker, which keeps its certification and warranty with the company that made it.

POs and net terms?
Yes. We accept POs, ACH and cards, supply a W-9 on request, and offer net terms on qualifying orders.
