An SZ61 sits on an inspection bench all day with somebody's face at the oculars. Whatever is rising off the part — flux fume, solvent from a wipe-down, abrasive dust off a deburring step — rises into that face and settles on the objective. This hood puts a shell over the working volume and pulls that column up and out instead.
The front stays open. Hands in, eyes on the oculars, nothing in the way.
Sealed boxes work on machines that run unattended behind a shut door. A microscope is the inverse — continuously attended, hands inside the work volume. So this is a capture hood sized to clear the stand, with a full open work face and an upper baffle that keeps the plume from rolling forward out of the opening.
CNC-cut panels, all brackets and assembly hardware, and written instructions. Filters and inline fans are sold separately.
This hood contains the plume and gives it a path out. It is not a certified fume hood — no ANSI/ASHRAE 110 testing, no SEFA 9, and no capture-efficiency, airflow or health claims from us. Ducted outside it moves fume out of your breathing zone; with a consumer-tier carbon filter it reduces fumes and smells. Regulated chemistry needs a certified lab hood, and we will say so rather than sell you this one.
Microscope vendors publish working distance, not body dimensions, and boom geometry changes with every arm extension and ring light. Send us your working envelope before ordering. We build to your bench.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. International orders include brokerage fees for customs. Duties, VAT, taxes, and other fees may need to be collected prior to delivery. Every country and local is different so we cannot provide an exact estimate of these fees.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
