The 24" box handles a two-plate session. This one is for people doing it all day — a grow doing weekly transfers, a tissue culture operation running trays, a lab that needs two people's worth of throughput out of one station. Three feet of width, 8" arm ports, and enough height to stand a rack of tubes up.
Terra Universal's comparable single-station acrylic glovebox lists at $1,602 and arrives bonded and freight-shipped. Ours flat-packs. That is the whole difference in price.
It does not filter. It eliminates air movement. Airborne spores settle out of still air within a minute or two of closing the box. A rigid, closed enclosure with arm ports stops your body plume and room drafts from carrying them onto open plates while you work. Rigidity is the point — a flexing tote pumps air every time you lean on it.
Your workflow is 70% isopropyl on every surface, several times a session. Stressed acrylic crazes under IPA, and the cracks start at bolt holes and bracket joints — exactly where a panel-and-bracket design puts stress. We build the wetted panels in polycarbonate, oversize and chamfer every fastener hole, and use compression gaskets rather than tight bolts. It costs us more and it is the difference between a box that lasts and one that spiderwebs in a year.
This is a dead air box — a still air workstation. It is not a biosafety cabinet. BSCs require NSF/ANSI 49 certification, HEPA filtration and validated airflow. We carry none of those and make no sterility, air-change or contamination-rate claims. Work that needs containment rather than exclusion needs a certified BSC, and we will say so.
A HEPA blower kit converts this to a laminar-flow station; a UV-C timer kit is available, though ask us about panel life before you commit to one. Both are quoted separately — tell us which way you are going.
Built in Rocklin, California. Lead time on standard kits is 10 business days or less. One-year warranty, 30-day returns, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
