The A2L enclosure is bigger than the A2L. At 23 × 31 inches it out-measures most desks in the depth that matters, and a 31-inch-deep enclosure with its back edge floating past a 24-inch desktop isn't a workstation — it's a shelf test.

Depth is where bed-slingers punish furniture. The A2L runs its bed and the part front to back for the whole job; that motion needs support under all 31 inches, not under the front 24. An unsupported rear edge turns printer motion into table motion.

The table that fits this machine isn't a nicer version of the one you have. It's a size that furniture stores don't sell. So we cut it.

The top extends exactly half an inch past the enclosure on every side. Enough overhang to level, latch, and grip. Not so much that you've bought a piece of furniture you have to find room for.

Built on 40-series black aluminum extrusion with cast corner brackets and M8 hardware — the same structural system used for CNC machine frames and industrial workstations. The top is 3/4″ melamine: flat, sealed, wipes clean, and won't telegraph a heat cycle the way a raw wood top will.

Rated for what's actually on it

An A2L with its enclosure, filament, and a tall part on the bed is real, moving mass. This frame is specified for a 100 lb working load with margin for motion — because the number that matters isn't what the table holds sitting still, it's what it holds while a bed-slinger throws mass around on top of it.

Four leveling feet handle a floor that isn't as flat as you think it is. A machine that rocks a millimeter is a machine that ghosts.

The air you're standing in

Even a mostly-PLA machine benefits from a tidy air path once it's enclosed, and the day you try ABS you'll want a real one. The open frame never pinches an exhaust hose, the T-slot channels swallow cable runs, and nothing about the table blocks a 4-inch duct to a window or a filter — the routing decisions stay yours.

Optional: locking enclosed compartment

Add a fully enclosed mid-shelf with clear acrylic panels and a cam lock. Filament, dryers, nozzles, tools, and spares stay visible, dust-free, and secured.

It outlives the printer

Your A2L will not be your last machine. Two years from now there's a faster one with a different footprint, and the bench you bought for this one is either the right size by luck or it's scrap. Extrusion doesn't work that way. Every surface of this frame is a mounting rail. Re-drop the T-nuts, move a rail, add a shelf, hang a spool holder, bolt on a monitor arm, restretch it for the next machine. It reconfigures because it was designed to be reconfigured.

Every extrusion arrives cut to final length, deburred, and labeled, with the leg bores already tapped for the feet. The top and shelf come CNC-cut with the mounting holes counterbored. Brackets, T-nuts, and hardware are counted and bagged by step. Flat-pack keeps the freight sane and keeps the price honest — you're paying for aluminum and precision, not for air in a box.

Assembly is straightforward and takes one person about an hour. No welding, no drilling, no cutting. If you can build the enclosure, you can build this.
