The ComMarker COX 40W Enclosure by Clearview Plastics is a heavy-duty safety and ventilation enclosure built for the ComMarker COX 40W RF CO2 galvo — the machine that brought industrial galvo speed to a desktop price. The COX marks wood, acrylic, leather, glass, coated metal, and paper at galvo speeds, and every one of those materials puts smoke and particulate straight into your shop air.
A galvo CO2 head throws far more smoke, far faster, than a gantry machine covering the same area. This enclosure contains it. 1/4" aluminum composite panels stop the 10.6 µm beam cold, door gasketing seals the perimeter, a viewing window lets you monitor the job, and a 4" exhaust port moves the smoke outdoors or into a filter.

This enclosure is designed and sized around the following configurations:
XL — 21.5" W × 29.5" D × 34" H
The COX's 200 × 200 mm field means you'll be loading real media, not just small parts, and the column needs headroom above the work. XL gives you the door width to slide a full sheet in and the height to run the column up for thick stock.
Smaller option: Large (18 × 29.5 × 30.5") works for a COX used mostly on small, flat parts — tumblers, tags, coasters, phone cases.
Size up if: If you run the slide extension for the 200 × 400 mm field, go XL+ and add the two optional side doors — that turns the enclosure into a pass-through so long stock can run straight through it while the machine indexes.
All four sizes are selectable in the configurator above: Medium 15.75 × 23.75 × 27.5" · Large 18 × 29.5 × 30.5" · XL 21.5 × 29.5 × 34" · XL+ 21.5 × 31 × 38.25" (W × D × H). Not sure? Send us your machine and the media you mark and we'll point you to the right size.
RF CO2 galvo markers are Class 4 lasers. A 10.6 µm beam behaves nothing like a fiber beam — it is absorbed rather than transmitted by most solid materials, which is exactly why it engraves wood, acrylic, and leather so well. That also means a direct or reflected strike will mark whatever it hits inside your shop.
A galvo CO2 head covers ground fast, and it makes smoke just as fast. Extraction is not optional on this machine.
Build the enclosure to your shop with the options in the product configurator above:

Neil Henderson here, owner and head designer at Clearview Plastics. My shop is a California-based artisan design studio, and we build every enclosure in-house in Sacramento. Our panels are professionally CNC-cut for accuracy, with parts designed specifically for each machine we support — this isn't a generic box off a marketplace. When you order through us, you work directly with me, and that relationship comes with my genuine appreciation and skilled, personal help.
Does a CO2 galvo really need an enclosure?
Yes, for two separate reasons. The 10.6 µm beam is a Class 4 hazard that reflects off shiny stock and marks whatever it lands on. And a galvo head moving at thousands of millimetres per second generates smoke far faster than an open bench can clear it. The enclosure handles both.
Does this reclassify my Class 4 laser to Class 1?
No. This enclosure contains the beam, glare, and fumes and dramatically reduces stray-light exposure, but it is not certified to reclassify your laser or to meet ANSI standards. Always wear OD-rated safety glasses for your wavelength and follow Class 4 protocols. If you need a formally certified Class 1 solution, contact us about our Worksafe enclosure.
What are the exhaust and filtration options?
A 4" exhaust adapter is included to vent outside via a flexible hose. Add a 95 CFM or 200 CFM fan or our window exhaust kit, or step up to a heavy-duty Donaldson AD350 laser-rated filtration unit for indoor operation.
Can it act as a pass-through for long or oversized media?
Yes. Add the optional side doors — with two side doors, the enclosure opens on both sides so you can pass long or large stock straight through.
Can I get it assembled?
Yes. Choose the delivered-assembled option and it ships built and ready to use instead of flat-packed. You can also add a magnetic door interlock (2-wire lead) and extra seam sealing.
What if my machine doesn't measure the way you've listed it?
Send us your actual base width, depth, and standing height with the column at your normal working focus. We'll confirm the size before you order, and if nothing standard fits, we cut custom.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy. Unused, undamaged panels with the masking fully attached are eligible for a full refund less return shipping. If panels are damaged after shipment or the protective mask has been removed, we can't offer a refund.
We recommend the XL (21.5" W × 29.5" D × 34" H) for the ComMarker COX 40W — size your table to that.
We can ship to virtually any address in the world. International orders include brokerage fees for customs. Duties, VAT, taxes, and other fees may need to be collected prior to delivery. Every country and local is different so we cannot provide an exact estimate of these fees.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
