The UV Laser Marker Engraver Enclosure with OD3+ Laser-Filtering Acrylic by Clearview Plastics is a made-to-fit safety and ventilation enclosure for 355 nm UV galvo laser markers — machines like the ComMarker Omni 1. Its fully transparent OD3+ laser-filtering acrylic panels give you a clear view of your work from the front, back, sides, and top, while blocking 99.9%+ of stray UV light and containing the fumes.
This is a "set-over" enclosure that drops over your UV marker and controller, offered in multiple sizes so you can match your machine — or size up to the media you're marking. It assembles in about 20–30 minutes with a screwdriver and hex wrench, and can be configured with the doors, sealing, interlock, and filtration a professional shop needs (see "Configure your enclosure" below).
This enclosure is made to fit the popular desktop 355 nm UV markers, including:
Not sure on sizing? Send us your machine and the media you mark and we'll point you to the right size.
UV "cold" lasers mark without burning, but 355 nm is still a Class 4 hazard to eyes and skin, and the photochemical process gives off ozone and fine fume. This enclosure keeps the view open while cutting the danger:
Note: the OD3+ panels dramatically reduce stray-light exposure and are spectrometer tested. However they do not reclassify your Class 4 laser. Always wear OD-rated UV safety glasses while the laser is in use. If you need a higher-rated window (OD6+) or a formally certified build, see our heavy-duty UV / Fiber Galvo enclosure or contact us.
Build the enclosure to your shop with the options in the product configurator above:

Neil Henderson here, owner and head designer at Clearview Plastics. My shop is a California-based artisan design studio, and we build every enclosure in-house in Sacramento. Our panels are professionally CNC-cut for accuracy, with parts designed specifically for each machine we support — this isn't a generic box off a marketplace. When you order through us, you work directly with me, and that relationship comes with my genuine appreciation and skilled, personal help.
What does an OD3+ rating mean?
OD3+ means that if a laser beam hits the panel, less than 0.1% (one-thousandth) of the original power can get through — usually much less, since our panels are spectrometer-tested above OD3 across the relevant wavelengths. It reduces stray-beam intensity by 1,000× or more, making the panels safe for incidental viewing during normal operation. It is not a certified laser-viewing window and does not reclassify your laser.
Should I get this or the OD6+ heavy-duty enclosure?
This OD3+ acrylic enclosure gives you the clearest all-around visibility and is ideal for UV markers like the ComMarker Omni 1. If you want a higher-rated OD6+ UV window with aluminum-composite panels for a more industrial build, choose our UV / Fiber Galvo Laser Marker Enclosure instead.
What are the exhaust and filtration options?
A 4" exhaust adapter is included to vent outside via a flexible hose. Add a 95 CFM or 200 CFM fan or our window exhaust kit, or step up to a heavy-duty Donaldson AD350 laser-rated filtration unit for indoor operation.
Can it act as a pass-through for long or oversized media?
Yes. Add the optional side doors — with two side doors, the enclosure opens on both sides so you can pass long or large stock straight through.
Can I get it assembled?
Yes. Choose the delivered-assembled option and it ships built and ready to use instead of flat-packed. You can also add a magnetic door interlock (2-wire lead) and extra seam sealing.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy. Unused, undamaged panels with the masking fully attached are eligible for a full refund less return shipping. If panels are damaged after shipment or the protective mask has been removed, we can't offer a refund.
We can ship to virtually any address in the world. International orders include brokerage fees for customs. Duties, VAT, taxes, and other fees may need to be collected prior to delivery. Every country and local is different so we cannot provide an exact estimate of these fees.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
