Clearview Plastics · Bambu Lab H3C External Enclosure · printer + AMS 3H, one box
The H3C is the machine people buy as their final setup: nine hot tools, a 65 °C chamber, 1,400 mm/s motion and the AMS 3H stacked on top. It is enclosed, and that chamber does its job holding heat around the print. It was never built to manage the air in the room. It recirculates when it is hot and exhausts straight out the back when it needs to cool, every tool change purges, and the AMS sits on the roof open to dust, drafts and the humidity of whatever room it lives in.
The Clearview H3C Enclosure puts the printer, the AMS 3H and nine spools in one finished, controlled space. Fumes and particulate stay contained where a filter, an exhaust run or Bambu's own E1 purifier can deal with them. Dust and drafts stay out, the noise comes down, the doors lock, and a $2,499 machine stays the machine you paid for. It is a bolt-on panel kit, CNC-routed in California for the H3C, and needs no modification to the printer.
One size — 27″ × 26.4″ × 44.3″, printer and AMS 3H inside 120 mm ports — two rear, plus one per side door Lockable on three faces · ships flat-packed
First look
A quick tour of the engineered safety enclosure around the H3C with the AMS 3H on top: the top lid and front door, the side door for the AMS, the rear filter ports, and why an enclosed printer still belongs inside one. The full walkthrough is on the way.
Three reasons to enclose it — and one to do it now
Every filament gives off fumes and ultrafine particulate at some level, PLA included, and the H3C runs hotter and purges more often than anything Bambu has made. Its built-in HEPA and carbon filter recirculates while the chamber is hot, then the exhaust fan dumps to the rear when it needs to cool. The enclosure contains that, so a filter can reduce it, an exhaust run can carry it outside, or the E1 purifier can take it at the source — and purge debris lands on a panel, not your floor.
Nine tools, 1,400 mm/s and 25,000 mm/s² is a lot of mass changing direction. Panels on every side take the edge off the fan and motion noise so a twelve-hour job does not own the room. Add the vibration dampening pads under the printer, and put the whole stack on the matching extrusion table with leveling feet, and the ringing that walks through a light bench into the floor and the next wall has nowhere to go.
A second wall keeps shop dust, grit and pet hair off the tool rack, the rails and the nine spools on the roof. It buffers the printer and the AMS 3H from drafts and a cold garage, which matters most with the high-temperature materials this machine was bought for. Add desiccant or a small dehumidifier and the enclosure becomes the place you manage moisture for all nine slots, not just the two the AMS dries.
Most people who buy an H3C bought it as their ultimate setup. A premium enclosure is the add-on that keeps it that way: cleaner mechanics, a locked door between hot nozzles and curious hands, and a machine that looks like the equipment it is — in an office, a lab, a library, or the room at home everyone walks through.
The H3C enclosure, panel by panel
Who it's built for
Multi-material production, client work and engineering prototypes, where a failed nine-tool print costs more than the filament it wasted.
Employees in a shared workspace, students in a lab, patrons in a library makerspace, or your family in the next room.
A lab or clean space that can't take in what a printer puts out, or a dusty shop the printer needs protecting from.
Fortune 500 companies, government labs and top universities run Clearview enclosures. So do physicians, attorneys, executives and senior engineers.
If your practice or lab answers to a safety review, the five-document Safety Documentation Pack is written for exactly that conversation.
The case for a second box
The H3C's shell is built to hold heat around the print. An enclosure is built to hold air around the printer — and then give that air somewhere to go. Two different jobs. Two boxes. On this machine the second box also catches what the first one throws out the back.
What you're getting — H3C with the AMS 3H shown
The 42-inch door is laser cut so the gap between door and panel stays under 1 mm, for the best air containment. It hangs on three hinges and three magnetic latches with a positive T-handle. Reach the plate, the tool rack and the purge chute in one motion. The cam lock in the lock kit keeps hands out of 1,400 mm/s motion and nine nozzles that stay hot between picks.
A 19 × 19 in door at AMS height, centred on the machine, so spool changes and tool swaps go through the side the way Bambu's own magnetic windows open — with the lid shut. Order the second side door and both sides open.
The front-opening lid clears the AMS 3H's own lid as it swings. Top-loaded filament, the TPU bypass and the optional top camera stay the lid-open jobs they already are. Lockable with the lock kit.
Two on the rear panel, plus one on each side door you select, every one cut to the same 120 mm pattern and designed to fit our full range of fans, filters and exhaust brackets; the Bambu E1 purifier hose passes through the same way. Unused ports ship covered.
Added space for cords, a waste bucket and breathing room for the printer's internal electronics and the AMS 3H's rear intake fan. Grommets and a TPU filament port on the rear panel pass cables and an external spool in.
Eight CNC-cut panels on printed corner brackets, with stabilization brackets at the midpoints and top for added strength and rigidity, so the tall panels stay flat and the doors keep closing square. Ships flat on two sheets; assembles with a hex key.
Tailored fit
The panel set is dimensioned to the H3C with the AMS 3H on top — 91 mm each side of the machine, 100 mm behind it, 78 mm over the AMS — not a universal box shimmed down until it clears. The doors are where the hands go on this machine: the bed and the tool rack through the front, the spools and tools through the side, the filament through the lid.

Front for the plate and the rack, side for the spools and tools, lid for the filament path. Nothing on this machine moved to make room for the enclosure.

Keyed cam locks on all three doors. For a school, a library makerspace, a shared lab or a shop floor, it is the difference between a printer that is available and a printer that is controlled. Pick it when you configure the enclosure.
Locks
The H3C is the first desktop machine where reaching in is a real question — nine parked tools stay hot between picks, and the toolhead moves faster than you can pull your hand back. The lock kit puts a keyed cam lock on the front door, the side door and the lid, so the only way into the machine is the way you decided.
Ports
Two on the rear panel just below the AMS top, plus one on each side door you select, every one cut to the same 120 mm fan mounting pattern. Ports you are not using ship covered, so the enclosure is closed on day one and ready the day you change your mind.

A carbon and HEPA unit that moves air out of the enclosure and outside through a window insert. Reduces fumes and smells. The simplest setup of the three.

The intake filter feeds clean make-up air in at a side port. Where a window is not an option, the recirculating carbon and HEPA unit mounts to the same pattern and returns filtered air to the room. Reduces fumes and smells.
Air management
Those are two halves of one system, and they only work together. It is also why this enclosure is not gasketed — restrict the airflow and you neuter the filtration. All three mount to the port pattern and are selectable when you configure the enclosure. The H3C's own filter and the Bambu E1 slot into the same system: they treat the chamber air; the enclosure handles the room side.
Emissions on this machine peak when the plate rises out of the chamber at the end of a print and every time a tool purges — which is right before you open a door. A sealed box with nothing moving the air just stores that until you release it into the room all at once. The filter or exhaust keeps air moving through the enclosure for the whole print, so the air inside is being treated the entire time, not saved up for the moment the door opens.
Fan, hose and window insert. Moves air outside and reduces fumes and smells. Best used for low-VOC filaments like PLA, PETG and TPU. Needs exterior vent access.
HEPA and carbon in a streamlined unit. Processes the air and returns it to the room, so no window and no duct run. Honestly: under heavy high-temp use it isn't always a complete answer on odor.
Industrial-grade filtration with about 8–10 lb of charcoal and deeper HEPA filters. Absolute assurance on VOC and particulate mitigation. The answer for occupied offices, clinics and labs — anyone who needs certainty rather than reduction. Connects to the same port.
With both of the Clearview filters we do not make performance or health claims on our filters.
Most people assume PLA is completely benign. Our customers who are physicians, engineers, or running professional environments don't make that assumption. Off-gassing happens at some level with every filament. The question is just what level of management is right for your space and your sensitivity.
The workstation table
With the AMS on top the H3C is 41 inches tall closed and wants 1.3 metres of air to open its lid. On a 30-inch bench that is a step stool. The Clearview H3C Workstation Table is cut to the enclosure's exact footprint and deliberately short — 26 inches — so the enclosure lid lands at 70 inches, the AMS latch at 67, and the side door at eye level. 4040 aluminum extrusion, cast corner brackets, leveling feet, a 3/4 in top one inch proud of the enclosure on every side.

Enclosure, printer, AMS 3H and nine spools up top; the cabinet underneath. One footprint, one frame, one key.

The cabinet kit closes the frame with a shelf, smoked acrylic panels and a keyed door. See the H3C Workstation Table →
For institutional buyers
Schools, libraries, labs, aerospace and defense shops, shared makerspaces. The equipment clears the technical review and then stalls on documentation, because someone in EHS or facilities needs written evidence before a machine goes into an occupied room. Two documents solve that, and you can read both before you buy anything.
Five documents, rebuilt around the H3C's real specifications: nine hot tools, the 65 °C chamber, the rear exhaust, the AMS 3H on top and the 1.3 m it needs to open. For a lot of buyers this is the difference between "we'll look into it" and a purchase order.
Fitment and options
Inside clear 26.6″ × 26″ × 44.3″ — 91 mm each side of the machine, 89 mm front-to-back, 78 mm over the AMS. The AMS 3H, its lid swing and all nine spools are inside the controlled volume.
An H2D or H2C belongs in the Core XY XL size on the H2 page. This size is cut for the H3C.
The side door sits at 22–41 in, on the AMS 3H's side windows. Second side door optional. Lid clears the AMS 3H lid as it opens.
The printer sits on printed riser feet, included in the parts kit, so the front door clears.
Bench: the H3C with the AMS 3H is 80 lb before the enclosure and nine spools go on, and it is 44 inches tall in the box. Plan on a rigid bench 26 inches high — or the matching H3C Workstation Table, which is cut to the footprint at exactly that height. A table that flexes shows up as ringing in your prints.
A 1/4″ optically clear acrylic front panel so you can watch the print, with expanded PVC on the sides, rear and top. Five-sided.
If you change one thing on the configurator, change this. Same thickness all the way around, better fit, feel and finish — then pick the material that matches what you print.
Clear acrylic is the best all-round choice. Smoked is the same panel with a quieter look. Polycarbonate trades scratch resistance for impact resistance.
Panel choice is the one option you can't change after the fact.
At a glance
The Bambu Lab H3C External Enclosure by Clearview Plastics is cut for the H3C with the AMS 3H on top: 27″ W × 26.4″ D × 44.3″ H outside (686 × 671 × 1125 mm), 1/4″ panels, a full-height locking front door laser cut to an under-1 mm panel gap, a side door lined up with the AMS 3H's side windows, and a lid the AMS 3H's own lid opens through. It contains fumes and VOCs so a filter, an exhaust run or the Bambu E1 Air Purifier can deal with them, takes the edge off noise and vibration, keeps dust and drafts off the printer and nine spools, and locks on three faces for schools, libraries and shared labs.
With both of the Clearview filters we do not make performance or health claims on our filters.
As a small business proudly owned and made in the USA, we deeply appreciate your support. Our enclosures come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee and a 1-year warranty against manufacturer defects.
The images on this page are renders of the H3C enclosure CAD, shown with tinted panels and on the H3C Workstation Table. Your enclosure ships in the panel material you select on the configurator; the table is sold separately. Photos of the first production build will replace the renders.
Does the H2 series enclosure fit the H3C?
No. The H3C with the AMS 3H is 1,047 mm tall and 571 mm deep; the H2 XL size is 965 mm tall and 648 mm deep. This enclosure is 1,125 mm tall and 671 mm deep, cut for the H3C.
Can I open the AMS 3H lid inside the enclosure?
Yes. The enclosure lid is front-opening and the AMS 3H's lid opens up through it and holds itself open as designed. Top-loaded filament and the TPU bypass stay lid-open jobs.
Does it work with the Bambu E1 Air Purifier?
Yes. The E1 sits outside the enclosure and its hose passes through a rear port to the printer, so Bambu's auto mode still runs the purifier with the print. The enclosure's own ports take Clearview's filters for the room side.
What is your return policy?
We have a 30-day return policy. Unused, undamaged panels that still have the masking fully attached are eligible for a full refund less return shipping. Partially assemble with the mask on to check fit.
Why would I order polycarbonate vs. acrylic?
Panel choice is the only feature you can't change after the fact. 1/4″ commercial-grade panels are the best upgrade we offer. Polycarbonate is impact resistant; acrylic is scratch resistant and the best all-round choice.
Why a recirculating filter vs. an intake and exhaust setup?
For PLA and PETG, the intake and exhaust filters vent fumes directly outside with a 4″ hose. For higher-temperature filaments, the recirculating filter reduces fumes and smells with activated charcoal and HEPA while keeping chamber heat up. For assurance rather than reduction, the Print Pro 3 by Donaldson.
The table has to clear the enclosure, not just the printer.
